Dachshund Traveling from India to UAE - Does he need a blood test?

Today we received the following question from Rashmi regarding moving his dog from India to the UAE:

I would like to import my pet dachshund from Goa, India to Dubai, UAE. However an important requirement is to do the Rabies Serum Neutralization test from an accredited laboratory (see below). Is this something you can help with?

You're correct in that your dog will need a Rabies Titer Test completed at an approved lab as this is one of the first steps in the process. Unfortunately there are no approved laboratories located in India. You can find a list of approved labs and their location here.

Once your dog has been microchipped, vaccinated for rabies, and tested for rabies we can begin the import permit application process and commence to making travel arrangements. The amount of time this entire process takes is roughly 4 months to completed, depending on how quickly the laboratory can expedite the blood test results.
